Crossings is a project that through a concept of socially engaged architecture and art aims to raise attention to two phenomena: the depopulation of the Calabrian villages and the migratory phenomena internal to the Mediterranean.
Crossings takes place in the historic center of Belmonte Calabro, in the province of Cosenza. Students, young graduates, professionals and academics from all over the world together with the inhabitants of Belmonte, local craftsmen and migrants from the reception centers of neighboring countries (Amantea, Longobardi and San Pietro in Amantea), live seven days in the name of architecture, art and photography, experimenting with a new idea of sharing, crossing and rethinking the spaces on the hill of this splendid Calabrian village.
