Parco Archeologico Città del tufo

"Città del Tufo" Archaeological Park was established in 1998 with the aim of bringing together the main tourist-archaeological resources of Sorano municipal area under a single jurisdiction. The access doors to the Park are located at Documentation Center of Sovana Museum Pole, Reception Center of archaeological area and Museum of Middle Ages and Renaissance of Orsini Fortress, in Sorano. Since 2004 the Park is part of provincial museum system "Musei di Maremma". The necropolis of Sovana is divided into several sectors scattered around the town, the two sectors included in Archaeological Park are those to the west of the village: the first includes Via Cava del Cavone, Poggio Felceto, Poggio Prisca and Poggio Stanziale, north of Fosso Calesine and along Picciolana torrent; the second includes Via Cava di San Sebastiano, Necropoli di Sopraripa and monumental Tomba della Sirena, south of Fosso Calesine and along the stream Folonia.
