Iglesias, city with ancient mining tradition, hosts since 1871 an important Mineralogical Museum whose seat is Mining Institute, imposing building in Liberty style. The exhibition is on the first floor, the ground floor is home to ancient exercise equipment, the first floor houses Library and presidency. Museum consists of two large halls and retains many specimens of minerals, fossils and industrial archeology.
