The Genazzano Castle (XI century) is now home to the International Center for Contemporary Art and hosts numerous events, continuing the tradition started in 1950 with the "Genazzano Prize" for painting. The Castle houses some 200 works acquired as a result of various Prize editions, between 1953 and 1972, with the participation of newcomers and artists of solid reputation. Notable works by Antonietta Raphael and Francesco Trombadori, representing the Roman School, Ugo Attardi, Renzo Vespignani, Ennio Calabria, Domenico Purified, Ernesto Treccani and a section dedicated to local painter Scipione Vannutelli.
