Via Calmaggiore
Via Calmaggiore is the main street of historic center of Treviso, connects Piazza del Duomo to Piazza dei Signori and is identified with Roman Cardo Maximus of Tarvisium street. Earlier at Praetorian Palace, was since 1559 famous Fontana delle Tette, now removed and placed in Loggia of Trecento Palace. A working copy was instead placed in the courtyard of a small gallery that connects Calmaggiore with Tower Square. In both sides are numerous frescoed buildings both in the facades that inside of the arcades that follow one another along the length of the road. Basements of the first shop on the right of the gallery bearing you can access a small underground archaeological site where remains of Roman road are visible.
