VIA VITTORIO VENETO, Selva di Progno (Verona)
The curious tradition of the ancient Cimbrian communities who inhabited these mountains, of shooting "Trombini", is recounted through careful documentation and exhibits of several ancient specimens. These gigantic muzzle-loaded rifles, dating from the 17th century, were derived from arquebuses and weighed about 50 kg. They were once used to defend the borders of the community, probably as a signal, and are still used today during religious and popular festivals in the area.
