The Basilica-Sanctuary is located in the district of Saint Lucy, in the historic center of Naples. Always pilgrimage tradition has it that it was founded by a nephew of Emperor Constantine, but there is no news of the building before the ninth century. The first to occupy it were the Basilian monks. On the main altar there is a valuable statue eighteenth century by Nicola Fumo, depicting Saint Lucy; in the choir, a panel of the Rosary, by Teodoro d'Errico (1588).
