Located in Naples old town, in Via St. Clare, near Jesus's Square, the complex lies within the Franciscan Citadel. The St. Clare Museum Complex includes the famous maiolica-tiled cloister, with its frescoes, the Museum itself, the Archaeological Area, and the eighteenth-century artistic crib. The Museo, which was opened in 1995 in various spaces previously used by the Poor Clares for handiwork activities (sewing and weaving), illustrates the story of the construction of the Franciscan Citadel and its historical and artistic development.
