Palazzo Donn'Anna

The building, located at the beginning of Posillipo, is one of the most famous buildings in Naples. Its origins date back to 1600, when it was raised to the will of Donna Anna Carafa, wife of the Viceroy Ramiro Núñez de Guzmán. Unfinished, the building took on the spectacular charm of an ancient ruin confused among the remains of Roman villas that characterize the coast, between ravines and caves. Inside, of particular interest it is the theater, open to the sea, which offers a beautiful view of the city. The Palace is the subject of one of the most famous legends narrated by Matilde Serao in the book "Neapolitan Legends" seems, in fact, that here Donn'Anna would meet her young lovers, then kill them by making them fall from the Palace at dawn. Their souls are still circumventing the basement.
