Olate
Olate is a district of Lecco, place in north-east of the city. For a long time it was a parish and an independent municipality, the end of communal autonomy dates back to 1869. The Church of Saints Vitale and Valeria is believed to be the church of Don Abbondio in the "The Betrothed": built between the fifteenth and 1765 , with a further extension of the nave in 1934, when it restored the façade in baroque style. At number 19 of Via Caldone it is located, however, the alleged "Lucia Mondella's Home". In the eighteenth century, this building was a farm owned by the Airoldi Marchesini family, distant relatives of Manzoni.
