Via Cardinal Branda Castiglioni, 1, Castiglione Olona (Varese)
The Collegiate houses one of the most famous frescoes of the early Renaissance, painted by Masolino da Panicale: the scenes fully cover the walls of the Baptistery adjacent to the Collegiate Church of Castiglione Olona. The Masolino's fine frescoes, with their balance between landscape and architecture, tell the story and religious costume of the fifteenth century, through the bright atmosphere of the painter, which assists the transition to the International Gothic style.
