Grisolia

Where Grisolia (Cosenza)

The hamlet of Grisolia stands on a rocky spur 465 meters above sea level, on the Vaccuta stream valley. It has a long history: the human presence in its territory can be dated already in the Neolithic era, as evidenced by the finds made in the Serra Cave. The territory, starting from the Tyrrhenian climbs up for most of the southern area of the Pollino National Park, reaching the highest altitude on Mount La Mula, one of the major peaks of Orsomarso mountains; this makes Grisolia the coastal town with the highest mountain peak in Italy, from 0 meters to 1910. Of great architectural interest are the church of St. Anthony and the Sanctuary of San Rocco from Montpellier.
