Torre di Punta Penna
It stands on a promontory overlooking the port of Vasto. The tower has the shape of a pyramid-shaped trunk with a square base and was built at the behest of the viceroy Pedro Afán de Ribera, in 1563, and completed in 1569. It has a square plant and is built of brick, with the exterior completely plastered, has an opening on each side and access to the first floor via a two-ramp masonry staircase. Punta Penna Tower is still used today by Navy as a radar monitoring base.
