Castle was built in the XIII century, on a dolomite rock crevasse enclosed with walls. The first trace in this regard of the castle's property dates back to 1237, and is related to Arnoldo von Maulrapp. What remains of ancient building is set between the bastions of Stevia: some external walls, a courtyard with porphyry columns and traces of paintings on the walls. The site can be reached along a path that starts from the hotel below, near Carabinieri Training Center in Selva di Val Gardena.
