Castelrotto

Castelrotto is located within Sciliar Natural Park, at the foot of Alpe di Siusi, whose proximity has allowed the development of a thriving tourism, both summer and winter. The first traces of Castelvecchio can be traced back to the Middle Ages, which dates back to a massive square tower and remains of walls. In addition to the ruins of Castelvecchio, to visit Church of Saints Peter and Paul. In Castelrotto a traditional "peasant wedding" (Bauernhochzeit) is represented every winter, which brings to life ancient customs that were used when the peasants of the area got married. Usually the event provides that several couples take part in a wedding procession, formed by sled drawn on horseback and decorated for the event.
