The Albarella Island is an island located in the Veneto Regional Park of the Po, in the town of Rosolina (RV). The island has an area about 528 hectares. It is believed that its formation is due to the accumulation of debris carried by floods. The vegetation consists mostly of Mediterranean vegetation, with specimens of pines and white poplars (Populus alba, from which the island takes its name). The island is accessible via a dyke, but the entrance is forbidden to non-authorized persons: since the sixties, in fact, Albarella was identified as a destination for elite tourism by Marcegaglia group, which acquired its property.
