Museo della numismatica, medaglistica, della grafica incisa e della fotografia "Valeriani"

Where VIA UMBERTO I, 39/41, Latina

A museum of great interest in Latin America is the Museum of Numismatics medals, the engraved graphics and photography, named "Valeriani". There are numerous graphic works and medals struck between the eighteenth and nineteenth century, by artists of undoubted importance. The Museum is worth a visit especially since recent events testifies a heterogeneous collection of materials and documents. Among the artists whose works are on display in the Museum, must remember Cambellotti, Carrà, Giorgi, Costantini, Canaletti, Chigi della Rovere, D'Antino, Di Bello, Giannone, Papi, Valeriani and many others. Inside the museum there is also an exhibition of photographic evidence, related to the emergence of Latin (the ancient Littoria) and other fascist cities. These photographs are also an important witness of fascist propaganda. There are also sculptures, sketches in chalk and bookplates. The Museum of Numismatics was formed, above all, with the donation of documents or objects of interest from various families, who were featured in local historical events.
