At present the Museum has about 150 sheets of ornamental rocks from various regions of Italy; the whole is complemented by photographic material, cartographic and illustrative techniques of cultivation, quarries, stratigraphic series and more. The purpose of the Museum is to offer an overview, as complete as possible, about main variety of exhibited ornamental rocks Italian. Concerning their nomenclature, it was considered appropriate to maintain the trade name which, although not free from doubt, is the best known. The Museum wants to be teaching support for students of degree courses in Engineering Environment and Territory, in Geology and Architecture.
