Reserve was established in 1984 and is geared to the preservation of papyrus along Ciane river and the conservation of the environment of the "Saline". Saline formed since seventeenth century were an important economic resource and remained active until the eighties. Reserve is characterized by a flourishing vegetation with species such as papyrus (Cyperus papyrus), reed (Phragmites australis) and iris (Iris pseudacorus). Inside there is a pedestrian path of about 12 km.
