Ecomuseo della Montagna Pistoiese

Ecomuseo della Montagna Pistoiese is a partially open-air museum located in homonymous mountains, which includes several thematic areas: from proto-industrial activities to those of everyday life. Ecology and human-nature interaction are the key to the widespread museum, a set of 6 outdoor itineraries (Ice, Iron, Sacred Art and Popular Religiosity, Daily Life, Stone, Naturalistic) which include museums, educational centers and historical artefacts representative of Pistoia mountains. An essential environment, where water and wood provided raw material and energy, used by the inhabitants for simple and ingenious production plants: ironworks, ice-houses, mills.
