Ducal Park, also known simply as "Garden", is historic park in Parma of 208,700 m², which is located in Oltretorrente district. Duke Ottavio Farnese was the first, in 1561, who had idea of creating a Park around new villa that he built in the area then occupied by the fourteenth-century Castello della Ghiara. Park is spread over a trapezoidal plant with the main axis positioned perpendicular to Parma river and Garden Palace in a secondary position. The large central boulevard bisects the Park, leading directly to large Peschiera. At the intersection with the street surrounding the driveway form two small squares, near the south rises Eucherio Sanvitale Palace, while facing the intersection Serra of Oranges. To the north is Teatro al Parco. The third driveway leads to two clearings oval surrounded by lime trees and hedges where stands monumental group of Silenus. Next, Arcadia Grove with the temple of the same name.
