Museo tecnico navale della M.M.

The new home of the Museum, which opened May 12, 1958, is located next to the main gate of the naval base of La Spezia and exhibits, an area of over 3.000 square meters iIncluding an indoor garden, thousands of unique finds that succeed in making "live" to the visitor the sequence of events of naval history, from its origins to the present day of sailing. Among its main collection, the visitor can admire: a valuable collection of figureheads, models of boats and ships of every age, legendary vessels  ("pig", punt explosive type MTM), an extensive collection of weapons with fine specimens, naval guns never before displayed to the public, the transceiver station used in 1897 in La Spezia by Guglielmo Marconi in his first experiments. There is also an integral part of the Museum with an interesting library of historical books and original documents, including the serial number on the sheet of Giuseppe Garibaldi.
