Menhir San Paolo

St. Paul's Menhir is about 2.25 m high and has the chamfered faces, with east-west orientation. It stands on a rocky outcrop within which is Crypt of St. Paul has been excavated. On the top you can see probable accommodation hole of a cross. Its name derives from the underlying Byzantine cave dedicated to St. Paul, in which a fresco representing the tarantula, poisonous spider bites women, the so-called "tarantate" of which St. Paul is protector.
