It is one of the main squares of the city, onto which current site of Municipality of Caserta, the sixteenth-century Acquaviva Palace, which houses the offices of Police and Prefecture, and Palace of Bank of Italy. There are also shops, cafes and hotels. The square is characterized by a large Town Park with Monument to Luigi Vanvitelli and a large fountain.
