The construction of Castle dates back as 861, at the time of Count of Capua. In 879 was built a real fortress that in the following years, under Normans and Swabiansthe rule, took on the respect of a Castle. The structure was made up of four towers in the four cardinal points: last safe was the so-called Tower of Hawks, which with its 32 meters in height and a diameter of about 10 meters and a ditch it was virtually inaccessible. Inside, Tower consisted of three circular rooms.
