The museum is located at the National Institute of Apiculture and documents the historical evolution and technique of this type of farming. They are exposed utensils and work tools gathered over time, thanks to donations. Among the items there are numerous models of hives in use in various parts of Italy during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; tools used in operations in beekeeping and honey production; wooden models of apiaries typical of many rural areas of the Italian territory; anatomical models of the bee's body and some anatomical plates used in the past in the teaching of Apiculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bologna. It is noted for being one of the first ever used in beekeeping, the sample of German honey extractor (Model Rauschenfels) dating back to the mid-nineteenth century.
