Dinamitificio Nobel
Example of industrial archeology of the early twentieth century, the Nobel Dynamite was built in 1873 on a hill at the outskirts of the village of Avigliana. Equipped with electricity and rail connected to the internal Avigliana station, was equipped by chemical laboratory and produced, in addition to explosives, chemical intermediates, by-products of the main workings, fertilizers and paints. During the Second World War the building was the scene of bombings and closed its doors in the sixties. The Dynamite Nobel Museum, opened in 2002, is a piece of the collective memory of the area and demonstrates the transformations that took place in the social and productive years. Unique, proposes an exhibition with interactive video, documents, information panels, vintage photographs and instruments used in the production of explosives. In addition, the Museum provides a guided tour that, by touching the bomb shelter for the workers, the tunnels and the combustion chambers, allows visitors to immerse themselves completely in the reality of the factory, touching hands with the dangers and difficulties of life of the workers.
