Vico Secondo Umberto I, Aliano (Matera)
The Museum contains letters, documents and drawings regarding the confinement to Aliano (1935-1936), who was sentenced by the fascist regime the doctor, writer and painter Carlo Levi (1902-1975). Particularly interesting are the original lithographs, donated by the same Levi, of "Christ stopped at Eboli", the volume of 1945 summarizing the experience in the small town of Lucania, suggestive testimony of the extreme poverty of the rural culture of the South Italy.
