13th-century building transformed into an aristocratic residence in the 15th-century. The Sala Baronale (Baron¿s Room) constructed in 1420 contains one of the most impressive of late gothic painting with life-sized characters from the novel Caverllersco. There are 18 characters depicted; 9 "valiant men" and 9 "heroines". Almost all were painted between 1418 and 1430. Other frescos in the room represent a crucifixion and the "Fountain of Youth".
