Set on the top of a hill, Scaligero Castle was built from the 13th century and in subsequent centuries it has been subjected to numerous refurbishments, but have not altered its Medieval appearance. Restored part was originally called "Rocca", which was accessed bytwo hoisted bridges. A third drawbridge, the only existing one, entered the larger part of the complex, called "Castle". Of this, only the ruins of the perimeter walls remain, while the entire inner area is occupied by a private villa from the beginning of 1900. You can admire ancient Torre Tonda, probably belonged to a fortification of previous era on top of the hill. It is related to the legend that, inside, the sword of a knight killed in battle was besieged, whose spectrum is still in this place on stormy or plenary nights.
