Peschiera del Garda
The territory of Peschiera hosts three of ancient Alpine settlements which, since 2011, have been classified by UNESCO as "Heritage of Humanity". The town is facing south of Garda Lake, in a wind-sheltered area, and is characterized by historic Fortress, an impressive defensive work that for centuries has protected the city. Among archaeological evidence, at least seven piles of scarfs have been recognized, the most important of which are called "Imboccatura del Mincio" and "Bacino Marina"; Roman excavations are visible in the center, next to St. Martin's Church. Due to its tourist nature, Peschiera offers its guests various summer events and festivals.
