The State Archives in Trieste currently retains nearly 20 linear kilometers of documents, mainly from the mid-century XVIII to our days, that belong to more than 200 archival collections in different forms and types: correspondence, diplomas, drawings, maps. These sources testify to the historical memory of the political, social, cultural and artistic whole of Trieste and Venezia Giulia and territories which once were part of the city or wove with political relations, trade and economic, making the Archives of Trieste an important reference point for researchers from all over the world.
