Roof terrace of the sea and famous center of social life of Taormina, Piazza IX Aprile opens onto the city's main street, Corso Umberto, with its many outdoor cafes, religious buildings and historic buildings that make up the frame and spectacular view of the gulf and Etna. On the square facing Baroque Church of St. Joseph (seventeenth century), former Gothic church of Sant'Agostino and Clock Tower (or Middle Gate).
