Museo Etnografico San Nilo

Where Via Croce, 32, San Demetrio Corone (Cosenza)

Born by an idea of publisher Giovanni Macrì, since 2002, the Museum was enriched with household utensils, farm and craft tools, contributing to the reconstruction of the traditional family environments of the rural world. The exhibition sums up a historical period that goes from the Basilian period (with St. Nile's copyists monks) to the first Albanian emigration in Calabria in 1471, up to the '900. The "material culture", with the support of audiovisual and photos, has merged with the "ideal" one of linguistics arbëreshë, popular music and choreography.
