Largo di Torre Argentina is a square in Rome situated in the ancient area of ​​Campo Marzio which hosts four Roman temples dating back to the Republic time. The name of the Square refers to the Argentina Tower, so named by Johannes Burckardtche, master of ceremonies of the Popes. After 1730, the property was partially used for the construction of the Argentina Theater and the Tower, cut off '800 and then incorporated into a cant, it disappears, leaving only the name of the Square. Following works, they were found the marble remains of a colossal statue, and they took the moves the archaeological excavations that brought to light the sacred area dating back to Republican period. Benito Mussolini promoted the development of the area as "Argentina Forum", opened in 1929. On the Square facing Burcardo Palace, home of the SIAE, Papito Tower and the famous Argentina Theater. The archaeological site contains the remains of four temples that represent the most important sacred complex of the Republican mid-late. The four temples are designated by the letters A, B, C and D (from the north to the south) as it is not determined to whom they were dedicated. The study of these structures has been the yardstick for all the sacred buildings of central Italy and Rome itself.
