Aula Ottagonale delle Terme di Diocleziano (ex Planetario)

Where Via Romita, 8, Roma

After a long restoration that lasted two years, the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Rome reopen the octagonal Hall of the Baths of Diocletian, more commonly known as The Planetarium. This Octagonal Hall Roman, from the day of its inauguration, October 28, 1928, long wielded the primacy of Europe's largest planetarium.

Consolidation operations were responsible for safety of the complex, giving consistency and stability to the ancient structures. A careful micro-blasting at a controlled pressure on the soffit of the dome of the Rotunda Diocletiani, has, in fact, brought to light the original masonry texture and the ribs of the ancient shell.
