Chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore (Duomo)
St. Mary the Great's Church is located at the end of Corso Mazzini which connects it to Castle. Built in the twelfth century, Church has a Latin cross plant with three naves and a rose window on the main portal dating from the same era. The damage caused by several earthquakes necessitated a restoration, during which it was decided to cover ancient columns with rectangular pillars of security. At the entrance, it can see two friezes carved in stone: an open book, on the right, and two crossed keys, on the left. The interior of Church contains many works of art, among which paintings by Cristoforo Santanna, Giuseppe Pascaletti and Giuseppe Grana, plus several sculptures in wood and marble.
