Parco del Popolo, Reggio nell'Emilia (Reggio Emilia)
The Park, built in 1864 by Giuseppe Balzaretto and expanded in 1928, is decorated with numerous fountains and statues. Among the most important tree species there are some centenarian Cedars of Lebanon. Monumental Fountain was the first work carried out in 1885 for Public Gardens: it consists of a large circular bathtub with a base in the center, topped by three putti representing Fame, History and Recognition. Tomb of the Concordes is an important Roman-era find found in Boretto in 1929 and later transported to Reggio Emilia for the will of Fascist authorities. In 1927 solemn First World War Fallen Monument was erected at the entrance to the Gardens.
