Piazzale della Libertà bisects the coast, opening itself to a long stretch of beach protected by a series of rocks. The Square is dominated by the Villino Ruggeri, an example of Art Nouveau architecture, while the center is the large metal ball, by the sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro.
