Museo della Marineria Washington Patrignani Pesaro

Where via Pola, 9, Pesaro (Pesaro e Urbino)

The Maritime Museum "Washington Patrignani Pesaro" began as the "Sea Museum" thanks to the efforts of several people who had found in Washington Patrignani Professor (1915-1999) the strength to carry the company to recover from the environments and the houses of port documents and objects of material culture. The Committee for the establishment of the Museum gets by the City the permission to set up the first exhibition in 1988 at Villa Molaroni. The original idea of Professor Patrignani was not to create an archaeological collection, but to create a museum of the "maritime civilization" illustrating the everyday life at the harbor and the work of construction sites, through the tools to costruir boats and rammendar networks, earthenware pipes, clothes, objects of devotion and, above all, many images depicting the vessels, the "lugger", the people of the port. Closed to the public in the mid-nineties, the Museum was returned to the city in 2007, with the new name of "Marine Museum Washington Patrignani Pesaro".
