Built in the seventeenth century by the architect Paolo Maruscelli, it is among the leading examples of Baroque in Perugia. The foundation stone, laid in 1627, consisted of a cash travertine containing twelve bronze medals and one silver in honor of Christ and the apostles, with the effigy of the Immaculate Conception which was titled the Cchurch and St. Filippo Neri on the facade.
