Created and designed by Francesco Lardoni and Alessandro Arienti and divided according to religious affiliation of the deceased (Christian, Jewish and Muslim), was opened in 1849 and is a true slice of the history of Liberty sculpture and architecture between 1800 and 1900. The monumental properly has three avenues that depart from the main entrance (work by Alessandro Arienti, 1874) and flow together in the spaces for the common fields and famous citizens, surrounded by galleries and aristocratic tombs. The paths ending with the War Memorial by sculptor Ettore Salvatori (1875). Particularly significant are the tombs and chapels of important families of Perugia, among which the Vitalucci Chapel, by the sculptor Romano Mignini 1892, forged as Egyptian pyramid.
