Where
Via della Spiga, Milano
Via della Spiga is part of the "Fashion District" with Via Monte Napoleone, Via Manzoni and Corso Venezia. It represents one of the biggest shopping centers of high fashion worldwide. According to some scholars, the street name may derive from that of the Spighi family, present in Milan at the time of the last Duke of Sforza family; according to others, it derives from the effigy at an old inn of the time; for still others, it derives from Latin anagram pacis (spica) placed on a tombstone of the office of the Ursulines. Along the Street it can also admire important examples of the second post-war, as Garzanti Palace, built by the famous designer and architect Giò Ponti.
