The Government Palace, current seat of the Provincial Administration, is located in XV March Square. Properties of lords Ferrari, in the '700 passed to the female monastery dedicated to Our Lady of Constantinople (later Dominican Convent), which survives the underground crypt, now a museum. The original complex, shaped like a "C", was composed of three buildings connected to each other: the church (with a Latin cross with a single nave and side chapels) occupied the southern side. With the French suppression of the monasteries the building passed to the State. Theatre of historical episodes of major importance (the revolt against the Bourbons on fifteenth of March, the visit of Garibaldi in 1860 and residence of Savoy in 1881), the Palace was the center of an intense patronage. To visit the Council Chamber with frescoes by E. and F. Andreotti, dating back to 1874.
