Pinacoteca civica di Palazzo Volpi
The Civic Art Collections of Volpi Palace, an imposing seventeenth-century building, are part of the circuit "Civic Museums of Como." The exhibition has a chronological path: the most important nucleus of the collections is located on the ground floor, which houses the Medieval Section, which includes important early Medieval frescoes and sculptures with a look over the city and the territory, and Renaissance Section, where it can find the portraits of "famous men" from the Museum "P. Giovio". The first floor is dedicated to local paintings from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century; the second floor houses, however, the art collections of the twentieth century, with particular regard to Como Abstraction and to the works of Antonio Sant'Elia, Manlio Rho and Mario Radice.
