Antica Teate - Anfiteatro Romano (Civitella)

At the foot of the Civitella hill extend important remains of ancient Teate. In addition to the sacred area, consisting of temples that stood on a podium accessible by a staircase leading to the porch columns and the cell, we were recently brought to light the ruins of the Amphitheatre dating back to the first century AD, for gladiator fights. The Amphitheatre was connected out of the city by a good road system. Excavations have shown part of the wall that surrounds the arena and grandstand, with structure in bichromatic opus reticulatum.
