Santa Maria del Monte Abbey is located on the Spaziano Hill, on the remains of a former church built in the 9th century, enlarged and embellished between 1001 and 1026 when the monastery was founded. It has reached its present appearance at the end of the 15th and 16th century restorations. The interior is an aisle with four chapels per side, which preserve highly prestigious artwork. At the top, on the three sides, runs Gerolamo Longhi frieze that contains fourteen scenes of Virgin's Life. Heritage of Abbey is the collection of ex voto, a collection of 690 pieces of great value, made up of painted tablets since the 1400 depicting the miracles with which Virgin of Monte expressed her protection to the inhabitants of Cesena.
