Centola would be built after the destruction of the city of Molpa, which occurred in 547 by Byzantines of Belisario. In Mmedieval times it was the site of an important monastery dedicated to Santa Maria which was long active ascetic and cultural center of Cilento. To visit Capuchin Convent (1619), in historic center, Bell Tower dell'893, but the main feature of the country is that of the alleys that run through the village in far and wide.
