Cattolica
Summer vacation city, with rich naval tradition (fishing and shipyards). "Cattolica" is mentioned by Dante Alighieri in Divine Comedy in the XXVIII Song of Hell. Characteristic sites, the Tower of probable Byzantine origin, built on the small hill of Monte Vici, Roman archaeological excavations, the churches of Sant'Apollinare (XIII century) and St. Pius V (nineteenth century), Malatestian Tower, built with the function of (1914), the Queen Museum with adjacent City Gallery, the sixteenth century Church of S. Croce, Piazza Primo Maggio, with the Fountain of the Sirens, realized by the sculptor Casalini ( 1928), and nearby Fontane Danzanti.
