Castello Doria
The fortified city of Castelsardo was founded under the name of "Castelgenovese" as possession of the Ligurian family of Doria. The continued use as a fortified city meant that the defensive structures, from simple towers would become complex defense systems: the walls that surround the town are presented as a series of ramparts and towers connected, overlooking the sea, with the Castle on the south-west. The building consisting of a series of rooms huddled, included a central space, the residence of the Doria family, handouts for food, a tank and an outpost of the guard for the troops.
